Question
Product Information for Watches
Answer
The following is general information about watches.
Watch Movement-
Quartz:
Quartz /electronic sport watches use a battery in conjunction with a piece of quartz to create a pulse that powers the movement.
Electronic:
Electronic sport watches use a battery in conjunction with a piece of quartz to create a pulse that powers the movement.
Water Resistance-
Water resistant watches will never be certified 'water proof'. It is prohibited to claim a watch to be water proof. Watches come with different degrees of water resistance. The product description should indicate how much water the watch can encounter before becoming damaged. A higher number means greater water resistance.
Watch Pins-
Pull Out Pin: A pull out pin is the most common pin type. To wind the watch you simply need to turn the pin. To set the watch, you will need to pull out the pin and turn it to set the time. After the watch is set you must push the pin back into place.
Screw Down Pin: A screw down pin must be turned approximately 5 rotations until you hear the watch click. After you hear the click, you may proceed to set the watch. If the watch is water resistant, the pin must be tightly screwed into place. This will create a seal to maintain water resistance.
